DRVN is an advanced carbohydrate and electrolyte formulation, with a unique salt make up to both support your body's energy cycle and soak up excess acid made during exercise.

What is in DRVN

Carbohydrates

30 g

Maltodextrin and fructose at 1:1 ratio

Carbohydrate supplementation before or during exercise helps replenish your muscles' energy stores, allowing you to maintain high output across a whole training session rather than fading off at the end.

Thirty grams is enough to support your muscles, without risking side effects. The mix of maltodextrin and fructose allows carbs to be absorbed more effectively through 2 different intestinal transporters.

Sodium

1000 mg

Sweat contains approximately 800 mg of sodium per litre, and you can easily sweat 1–3 litres in a hard session, especially when it's hot. 1000 mg per serving is designed to actually keep pace with those losses. Sodium is vital in managing blood pressure, muscle contractions and nerve signalling.

When carbs and sodium are taken together, they help pull water from the gut into the body, allowing you to hydrate much more effectively.

Potassium & Magnesium

400 mg · 200 mg

Potassium as potassium citrate · magnesium as magnesium malate

400 mg matches the approximate potassium loss per litre of sweat and is the target for replacement during intense exercise. Potassium has a similar role to sodium and they work closely together.

Magnesium is involved in hundreds of enzymatic reactions across the body, improving sports performance.

Acid Buffers & Energy System Boosters

3 g

DRVN contains a significant amount of acid buffers from the citrate and malate salts. These buffers (citrate and malate) act as sponges to absorb unneeded acid so your performance doesn't drop off.

Citrate and malate are also key parts of your body's energy cycle (the Krebs cycle) which allow you to generate more energy, quicker. They accumulate in muscle and support ongoing energy production.

How to use it

For training

Mix 30 grams (2.5–3 tbsp) with 1000 ml water. Give it a good mix and drink throughout your training session. This batch is unflavoured. I like to squeeze in half a lime for taste.

To rehydrate post weigh-in

Target fluid intake is kg lost to make weight × 1.5 — so if you dropped 2 kg to make weight you need to drink 3 litres of liquid. Drink 500 ml DRVN mix in the first 15 minutes after weigh in, then another 500 ml over the next hour. Drink the rest at no more than 500 ml an hour until weigh in. Keep an eye on urine colour — if it's still very dark you need to drink more.
